On the bench, the only thing that was connecting both of them was the
touch of their shoulders. Even though it was just a small contact, it felt
comfortable. The connection she felt in that moment was all she could ask for.
They have been going out for quite a while now, but nobody knows. It was to prevent
rumors and awkward moments from happening. Before they go separate ways, before
they pretend that this moment doesn’t exist at all, they cherished this precious
instant. She looked at him over her shoulder and saw the tiny red dot that
decorated his neck, knowing three more hiding under his shirt and giggled. It was
their little secret. She reminisced to how it all happened. His kiss, his
touch, and the way he moves. Then her dream was interrupted by someone
calling her name. She panicked and arranged herself hastily. It was just a friend
from school, not someone that both of them know. They exchanged some greetings
and hugs then he walked away. He was staring at her sternly yet trying to hold
in his laughter. Then he burst out laughing commenting about how she panicked. She
attempted to pinch and tickle him but to no avail. Then the time came for them
to part. To change this memory into a nonexistent one. Even unwilling, at least
they had learned to cherish this temporary bliss.

Sea of Strangers
In a sea of strangers,
You’ve longed to know me.
Your life spent sailing
To my shores
The arms that yearn
To someday hold me,
Will ache beneath
The heavy oars.
Please take your time
And take it slowly;
As all you do
Will run its course.
And nothing else
Can take what only-
Was only meant
As solely yours.
