Moonlight

He took the knife and stare at the victim. Honestly, he had nothing to do with the situation and was being dragged into it. The silver metal glistened in the moonlight. So beautiful, yet so deadly. After what seemed like eternity he finally made his decision. He lifted the knife and plunged it into the victim’s body. The victim was screaming for help. He wailed and tried to avoid the thrusts but to no avail. At the far corner, I could only stare and watch the whole situation live. My legs were stood rooted to the ground horrified by the events unfolding right in front of my eyes. Each stab he made only brightened his face even more. He smiled as his victim’s life faded out of him. In then end what was left was a pool of dark red liquid that was forced out from a limp body. The victim was dead. He stared at his latest masterpiece and smiled. As though he was satisfied as of what the man had become. Then, he saw me. My hands were at my mouth, muting the soft sobs that I tried to hold back, but nevertheless he spotted me. He strode towards my direction and pulled me out of the alley. His grip was tight and unshakable. Even with resistance, he dragged and threw me to where the lifeless body laid. I fell; thick gooey substance soaked my clothes. It was his blood. I stared at him in awe as the chill ran down my spine. He lifted the knife like before, preparing for the plunge just when the sirens filled the air. He panicked, as he scans the area for cops. In the moment of recklessness, he pushed the knife in my hands and ran. The blame was all on me now. He was wearing gloves. I had no way out. With a final thought, I plunge the knife towards my heart as I let darkness consume me.
